Our Role in Student Success
As coaches, we are in the unique position to mold young athletes into champions on and off the field. It is our privilege and duty to ensure that all student-athletes have the tools necessary to continue on a path of success beyond their time at Americas High School.

Academic Success
PLAYER RECRUITMENT
Coaches will make sure student-athletes will:
- ALL will sign up for SAT/ACT
- NCAA Clearinghouse certification
- Complete college questionnaires
- HUDL accounts, appropriate highlight video
- Understand the differences between Division I, D-II, NAIA, and D-III college athletes and programs
- Be on our prospect list for visiting college coaches
- Have a Signing Day Ceremony
MIDDLE SCHOOL SUPPORT
- Ruidoso Middle School programs will be an extension of the high school program and will be aligned with what we do on the field and in the classroom.
- The main goal of the middle school program is to get kids excited about athletics and dream about being a varsity player at Ruidoso High School.
- Fundamentals for the sport and training techniques is a must along with program alignment.
- Coaches will have the freedom to show their abilities, but it should mirror the high school scheme and be aligned with the Ruidoso High School coaches expectations.
- High School coaches will work directly with the middle school staff.
- When at all possible, promotion from the middle school staff will precede hiring from outside the program.
Multi-Sport Athletes
- We want our athletes to participate in as many programs as possible.
- We will always put the best interest of the athlete first.
- Our coaches will communicate and compromise and do what is best for our athletes.
- We will meet with all Head Coaches to understand the needs of each program and develop a campus plan to meet those needs.
The absolute "ground zero" for building a great culture with a winning attitude begins in the middle school(s). The Ruidoso High School coaching staff will be present at middle school athletic events to support not only the athletes, but the coaches as well.
It is very important to stress to our athletes that this time of their lives is very brief and they must not take it for granted. Our responsibility is to get them trained on the same verbage as soon as possible, as "321" goes very quickly!
