Building Relationships
Building strong, authentic relationships on the foundation of mutual respect is the key to any successful organization. It is through these open lines of communication that champions are built. All coaches on my staff will strive to be great relationship builders and I have high expectations for this. The documents below detail what it takes to be a successful coach on any level, on any staff, but I expect my staff to adhere to the highest level possible of professionalism at all times.
Assumptions of coaches are what I expect out of any coach in the profession. Coaches are the catalyst for all things good and bad within an athletic organization, so these are the elements that should be inherently instilled in a coach.
The UIL coaches' Code of Conduct shall be followed to the letter. There is no excuse for getting tossed out of a game or acting in an unprofessional manner.
Coaches should constantly be looking for ways to improve their craft, and legendary coach Lou Holtz outlines ten points from which coaches should be executing with the goal of becoming the most effective coach possible.
